I have been coming to Watkins for a number of years, including when I was going to the W55  unemployment site a few years ago.

The prices are very reasonable and were highly accessible even during my hard times. Many people from the community come to get holistic medicine ingredients, capsules, teas, roots, and products from local merchants. They have also been doing so for over 40 years.

Watkins is a brand that has been around since the early 1900's. They have been in Harlem selling products since the 70s, and was one of the first herbal distributor in the area. They have diversified from strictly Watkin's products with a number of items, including fresh pressed juices and Kagan Water.

I commonly get the kale salad and the vegetarian egg rolls. My favorite roll is the Indian jerk roll and their vegan cookies.

I still go there for quick lunch, where I will eat in Marcus Garvey Park on nice days or for events in park's amphitheater. The employees are very attentive, remembering my orders. Its definitely a landmark of the neighborhood and it is my hope that they can compete with Whole Foods opening up the block.
